93 camaro alarm

I have a 93 camaro that i hooked up with an alarm. The alarm is  an option group LD 168-6C.

when i lock the doors it will lock but when i unlock it sounds like its trying to unlock the doors but it does not actually lock them. And since i have hooked it up the passenger side door switch will not lock or unlock either door. it blows a fuse. So, since then i have hooked up a circuit instead of a fuse and it keeps resetting the circuit

Did the doors lock and unlock properly before the alarm installation?

The doorlocks on this year were reversal requiring an add-on relay box which reversed the polarity while opening the circuit so there is no feedback to the switches. I've a feeling that your add-on secrity is sending power to the actuators and switches at the same time.

Do you have an electrical schematic of the security system that you can share with us?

Yes The doors locked and unlocked prior to the installation... I did hook up the 2 relays according to the instruction manual provided from the alarm company.

the doorlock wires in your car are reverse polarity (aka 5wi). there are two wires at the switch and basically what happens is when one is shown 12v, the other acts as ground and completes the circuit by locking the doors. now when you reverse the polarity, the doors unlock. its hard to tell if a wire is 5wi since when you test the wire, it seems like it is positive trigger. the fuse popping is usually the best indication that you have a 5wi wire. wire your relays like this.....

85 - (-) lock output from alarm

86 - 12v constant

30 - factory actuator side of doorlock wire

87a - bcm side of doorlock wire

87 - 12v constant

wire a second relay the same, but use the (-) unlock output from the alarm for pin 85
