I made the mistake of installing a new battery terminals on my Integra with an Audiovox APS15KB alarm and now it won't let me start the car!  I bought the car used & don't have the manual. I tried downloading one from audiovox but keep getting an error although it did let me have install instructions. Does anyone know how to reset this thing? I really don't want to have start cutting wires.

Thanks!

Should go like this:
Find the valet switch. It's a small metal toggle, usually mounted in the driver's-side kick panel, or maybe under the bottom of the dash.
It may or may not have a metal plate with the words "on" and "off" behind it.
Turn ignition key to the Run position. Move valet swith to the "on" position.
The siren should stop, the red LED on the dash should come on steady, and you should be able to start the car.
Sometimes, the on/off swithplate gets spun around the wrong way, or it may be missing altogether. If the above procedure doesn't work, try it all a second time, this time moving the switch the other way.

Thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately the valet switch was never hooked up.

Ah, that happens. But you can get around that too. Did they simply not mount the valet swith in plain view, or it was never installed at all?
You might find the switch hidden inside a fusebox or something.
Can you get access to the alarm brain? It'll make clicking sounds when the alarm is sounding---probably won't be hard to find.
At the alarm brain there should be a 2-pin blue plug.
One pin is a ground all the time, and the other pin needs to see a ground when the valet switch is on.
Temporarily, just to get the car running, follow the procedure above, but touch a screwdriver to the two pins to short them together.
(This should allow you to start the car, but once the screwdriver is removed the alarm will be allowed to arm again later.)
If you want to permanently disable the alarm, you could do one of these three things:
--bend the two pins with needlenose pliers so that they're permanently together. (obviously this kinda damages the alarm though)
--find a plug that fits, and tie the wire to ground.
--unplug the alarm brain.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
