Please help! I'm stumped. I dont believe that this vehicle is equipped with a second starter wire. I have the tach sense jumped of of the front driver side injector wire. It starts almost every time on the second attempt. When it does start on the second attempt, the starter sounds like it cranks rough ex. a hard knock is heard, then it cranks almost as if you barely tapped the key over in the ignition. Do I need some sort of tach generator, am I tapping the correct injector wire? Or is it some other problem. With a multimeter, everything tests as the install manual says it should. I also used a dei transponder bypass which also took care of the keysense issue. I would really appreciate someones experienced insight. Thank you in advance.

Specify what type of F150 it is.  and what color wire did you connect your tach wire and if your truck is a diesel gas vehicle

another thing for you to consider is if you have factory anti grind cause if you do you shouldnt use the tach wire you should use volt sense i am not 100% but i think the dei products including the prestige have volt sense try that

It is an f150 gasoline v8. It learned the tach signal in programming mode... Voltage sense? Could you break that down for me...? The only voltage sense that I know of on this r s system is a trigger for the alarm part of the system.

Oh and I dont recall the wire color, but it was a pulsed ground signal that matched the rpm of the engine.

That unit is capable of voltage sensing, instead of tachometer sensing, but they kept it a secret and didn't put it in the manual.
In the programming menu, in the menu that has the remote start features, there's one with two possible settings, "Tach" and "N/A".
So, go into that menu, and switch to the "N/A" selection, which is really voltage sensing, and try the remote start again.
--If the remote start works fine, you're on the wrong tach wire; try something else.
--If the remote start still doesn't work right, maybe you're powering up the wrong ignition wire, or maybe you have the ignition and accessory wires revered; go back there and double-test everything.
NOTE: That voltage-sense setting is a wonderful troubleshooting tool.
Also, you should know, your F150 should work reliably in voltage sense, but you'll have two small drawbacks:
1. The "pit-stop" feature (to park the car, but leave it running under the remote start) won't work.
2. The two-way notification that the truck has started, will have a 10-second delay.
