OK, two problems:
1) Still can't get the remote start to work. Tried both points (Pin 24 at the ECM, and the wire at the crankshaft sensor). No dice....truck will not fire (it will crank).
2) The door triggers are not working. Diodes were installed on all 4 trigger wires (quad cab) and wired in to the negative trigger wire on the Python 990 that is being used. No trigger. Factory harness shows 10.4 VDC when door(s) are closed, and 0.0 VDC when open. Is this not enough to trigger the alarm? The diodes also add an additional drop in voltage. I tried wiring in a relay to use the positive trigger on the alarm, but the 10.4 is not enough to actuate a 12V/30a relay. So to go that route I need to get a lower voltage relay.
Any ideas on how to make these things "right"??

What color keys do you have ? If it's a GRAY key then you need to install a bypass module. Also, make sure that you have both IGN wires powered up as well as both ACC wires as well to ensure that the vehicle stays running. Does the remote starter learn the tach signal ?
Use a relay as well as diodes for the door triggers.

This is what I can't figure out. We have four other Rams that work fine without relays on the door triggers (mine being one of them).
One 791 Viper
One Prestige Audiovox
One Python 990
..so why this one??
Yes, the alarm did learn the tach, but would only crank for about 1 second. This trucks turns over for two or three before it starts. I can recheck the wiring, but I think we powered ALL three IRN wires, and two ACC wires.

Try changing out all 4 diodes incase one of them is bad and is not doing it's job. What color was the head of the key ?

It's black (no sentry key here).
I'll recheck the diodes, but they were working. I have a feeling it is not working because the alarm is looking for 12 volts, and 10 volts just isn't cutting it. Since the alarm doesn't see 12(+/-) volts when the doors are closed, then it assumes the doors aren't closed.

As long as your using the (-) trigger door wire on the system, the 0.00 volts will set the alarm off. To test to make sure that the trigger on the Python is working properly, just strip back a part of the wire on the CPU side of the door trigger wire and manually ground it to the frame. If this sets off the system, then try it on the other side of the diodes & test each wire to see which one is not working properly. If it doesn't set off the system at all, make sure that you have the diodes facing the right way.

Alrighty, I'll let you know how it comes out.
Worst case scenario, there could be problem with the alarm.

a few things to check one is that the diodes are backwards the stripe should be towards ground and also as you are only getting 10 volts i would check the solder connection it woulds like you might have a cold solder joint that would drop the voltage from 12 to 10 volt

Toward the ground...meaning toward the alarm input?
Or is the door circuit grounding out when the door is closed, completing the circuit?
If it's toward the input...no dice. It's not working that way, and of course DEI is saying no warranty since an authorized dealer didn't (isn't?) installing it. THis really wizes me off, since the Circuit City I bought it from DOESN'T have an install bay (located in a mall)...so they are knowingly selling products and voiding the warranty?

Does anyone have some schematics for these stupid things? That's all I really need.....but of course DEI guards those like Ft. Knox.
