I’m sorry about this query being very long but here goes.
If anyone out there can help I would appreciate it. About 3 weeks ago the immobiliser in my car burned out and I had to get it towed home. To have a new one installed will cost nearly half the price I paid for the car secondhand. I want to bypass the system but am having difficulty doing it. I intend fitting an alarm myself that I will at least have control over if anything goes wrong again.
The car is a 1997 European Chrysler Neon, SOHC, ATX, 2Ltr.
I have looked up the wiring diagrams on this and other sites and in a Chilton manual but they are not correct for my car. So far I have traced the following wires from the module.
Module Pin No.
1     Y/Bk --   Light wire. -- Connects to (don’t know).
2)    Ylo   -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Starter circuit.
3)     Gy/Bk -- Light wire -- Crankshaft Postn Snsr.
4)     Gry -- Light wire -- Pin 32 on ECU Crankshaft Postn Snsr Signal.
5)     Bk/Bu -- Light wire -- Pin 43 ECU Sensor Ground and all Sensors.
6)     Org -- Light wire -- Pin 44 ECU Sensor Supply (+ 8 or 9 V) and all Sensors.
7)     NC
8)     NC
9)     NC
10)      NC
11)      Gn/Bk --   Light wire -- Connects to (don’t know).
12)      Pk/Prpl -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Door Lock circuit.
13)      Org/Prpl -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Door Lock circuit.
14)      Ylo   -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Starter circuit.
15)      NC
16)     Bu/Wht -- Light wire   -- Ign Sw (+ 12V when switched on).
17)      NC
18)      NC
19)      NC
20)      NC
21)      NC
22)      NC
23)      NC
24)      Rd/Ylo   -- Light wire   -- Battery + 12V
25)      Pk/Prpl -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Door Lock circuit.
26)      Org/Prpl -- Heavy wire -- Connects to Door Lock circuit.
There are 2 relays on the circuit board of the module. One operates the Door Locks which is of no interest at the moment. The other connects the Starter wires Pins 2 and 14 together and also the Yellow (Pin 1) and the GREEN/ Black (Pin 11) together (Don’t know where these go). They both con check to both Battery Positive and Negative as if shorted and this has me stumped.
The wires to Pins 3, 4, 5 and 6 go to the components on the circuit board and not to any relays. I think that the Grey/Black (Pin 3) and Grey (Pin 4) wires connect together for the CPS signal to the ECU.
The BLACK/ Blue (Pin 5) and Orange (Pin 6) appear to go to all the Sensors and ECU and I can’t find any breaks in these circuits and don’t know why they go to the module.
Some of the wires change to different colours at the main loom connectors.
Grey (Pin 4) goes to Grey/Black in the loom..
Yellow (Pins 2 and 14) goes to Yellow/Black in the loom.
Yellow/Black (Pin 1) goes to Yellow in the loom.
