Add a back-up battery to the alarm brain.  This will be a double plus.  For one it will eliminate the headaches and it'll add extra security if in case they cut the main battery cables.  These batteries are about the size of two packs of cigarettes and rated around 0.75A.  Be sure to feed ONLY the brain and not all the other components as it will drain quickly. 

ok, i got a backup battry, now how do i wire it up?  I cant just wire it inline right? how do i wire it to stay charged, AND only be hooked to the brain?

Most true back-up batteries come with an electronic module which assures that that the battery is charged only when the engine is running.  If you only have the battery then I suggest you cut the red wire going to your main harness and add two diodes inline (diodes leak so doubling will filter the leak) then connect the back-up battery positive between the diode and the alarm module.  Again make sure that there isn't anything else connected here.  Needless to say that the negative goes to ground but keep the wire as short as possible and connect to the brain's ground.
