2000 alero relay wire?

I have a 2000 Olds ALero and I have had a Viper alarm installed in it about 6 years ago. My radio fuse blew the other day and I had to remove the door lock relay to get my fuse out and there was a wire wrapped around one of the posts. I assume this is for my alarm and door locks. Not sure if its related but my battery keeps draining over night and I have to charge it every day. I got 2 questions.
1. Can this wire un-hooked or hooked up wrong cause my battery to drain?
2. What post is this supposed to be hooked to?

I doubt if this is causing your battery drain but it certainly is not what I would consider a "professional" installation. To make sure this is not the cause of your drain simply disconnect the wrapped wires and leave the car sit overnight, if it is not dead that was the problem but I think you will find something else is causing your drain.
To reconnect it, check the function of each post of the relay socket with a DMM. If it is a standard configuration the pins labeled 85 and 86 would be the 'turn on' posts, one should be constant +12V and the other will switch to ground when the door lock switch is pushed.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

I did leave it off over night and my battery was still drained. I didnt think it would be the cause I just wanted to make sure.
After looking again I have another door lock relay under the unlock relay that I may have moved too. It had a green wire wrapped around one of the posts that I didnt notice was there. This looks like it was touching 2 posts because I didnt see it there.
I just want to get these wires back to the correct spot. Both relays are the same and have a 5180 on the top of them. On the side there is a schematic that shows 86 87 87c on the top and 85 30 on the bottom.

There are better ways to do the locks on that car, but tapping wires into the relays shouldn't be a cause for the battery to drain.
Unless, like you said, the wire was touching two posts at the same time. That's a good way to kill a battery, AND burn out the doorlock motors.
Most likely, you want to put your wire on 86 of the relay.......... but like nick-ia said, the right way is to test.
Hopefully you have a multimeter or at least a test light. You want to test all the pins (on the car, not on the relay), and find the pin that tests as a ground when you move the car's doorlock switch.
