Got a 99 Nissan here. Put the r/s in and everything seemed to go fine. Used a bypasskit.com PKN. I tried to start the vehicle with the key to program tach and it just cranks. No start with the key. Removed the r/s and bypass completely. Still no start.  Period. What now! The nearest Nissan dealer is 125 miles away. They say that the keys have lost programming and I need a scan tool to re-program the keys. That doesn't add up to me but............fn foreign cars. I just need this vehicle to start with the key so can get it out and replace bypass with a "bury a key" unit.

Thanks in advance.

R u sure the keys are erased ? try leaving the key in & turn to ignition for 10 to 20 mins, and then try to start it again. gm & ford will lock up the vehicles if invalid keys are used for too many times. I m not too sure about Nissan, i thought it might worth a shot.

To repeat the words I heard on a drunken Sat night several years ago.......................Move slowly and step away from the car!!!!          I got so frustrated and all I could envision is a 125 mile one way tow that I failed to check the fuses for transponder circuit. Changed that and all was good.   Guess it pays to think slowly and not panic.
