i have a 99 f350 that the part of the isolation module that controls the lights for the plow has died   i was trying to figure out a way to make this work with relays i figured on 2 5 pin 30 amp ones (for both high and low beam) wired as such
pin 87 to the plow light
pin 87a to the stock headlight
pin 30 to the headlight 12v wire
pin 85 to a switched 12v ing source
pin 86 to a switched ground
so i can use the switch to ground to turn the plow light relay on when the plow is connected and when it isnt leave the switch off and the regular headlights work normally
the only reason im thinking of using a switched 12v source on pin 85 is so that the plow light relay cant be left on without the ing being on    im not the only driver of this truck so just trying to eliminate hassles
anybody think of another way of doing this or is this the best route to take ?

Since I have absolutely no idea what a plow light is but then you lot don't have rear fogs so we're even. I follow what you're trying to do and you've wired correctly except for a small point. Reverse 85 and 86. The ISO convention says 85 is always the ground side of the coil. All vehicle manufacturers configure them that way and if you ever have to work on OEM equipment it might cause you grief, especially of the financial kind! I know I'm being anal but as I always say the devil's in the detail.

thanks for the reply howie yea i will reverse them
a plow light goes on the frame of the plow and you use those rather than the headlights because the plow blade blocks the regular headlights from hitting the road

Obvious if I wasn't trying to be so clever. Apologies and thanks.
