Please excuse if this is in the wrong section but none of the forums pertain to this exactly. Long time installer that has been out of it for a while needing some help.

I am working on an 09 Lincoln Navigator L that was originally order by a conversion company with Fords "limo package". In other words it was supposed to be converted to a limo and has been sold to a retail customer with no modifications done. The "limo package" deletes all seating except the 2 fronts and the power running boards as well as alot of other interior stuff. So here is where i need some help. We have ordered the factory power deployed running boards and have wired each board to a DEI 530t  independently to control its up and down functions without needing limit switches and do side to side operation independently (meaning drivers side works off of drivers doors only) but the issue is needing a ground to trigger them to go down with the door trigger. I have found each door wire and diode isolated them and they send a 12v signal when opened and rest at ground when closed. The amperage provided by the trigger wont operate a relay as well as when i get it to open the boards i need to figure out how to trigger the module again to close when it loses the 12v signal all the while being controlled by 2 seperate doors. So each door front and rear has to trigger the module correctly even if 1 door is open and 1 is closed. Please give me any advice you can other than the obvious roll it outside and burn it...................... Thanks in advance, Mike

They can be also found in each of the doors coming from the latch.

But you say that the individual triggers were (+)?

What are the color wires you used? Were they YELLOW/BLACK, GRAY/RED, LT GREEN/ YELLOW, PINK/LT-BLUE?

Also. I dont understand why you need the 530T.

How many wires coming off the power running boards? I would tend to think the limit switches are internal.

Kind or like a power antenna. Power on-- goes up --Power off --goes down. You should definately have a switch to prevent running boards from operating--similar to factory

in the following post, the base of the transistor connects to the door trigger wire.  The emitter will put out enough (ground) current to trigger a relay.   The base is the leg under the letter b and the emitter is the leg under the letter e

As far as your statement about not needing limit switches, do the boards not have built in limit switches?   Are there 2 wires per board?  What happens if you leave power on one and ground on the other, does it continue to keep trying to move?

these are the wires used and they are testing positive when door is open.

the limited info i have found on the power deployed boards doesnt clearly state internal limit switches but the boards do have 5 wires ( 2 thicker gauge and 3 thinner) so i assumed they did have limit switches but on the diagram i have from ford the 3 extra wires are labeled "hall effect" and figured it could be something used to measure noise or resistance on the motors by the factory module or can bus system. so for ease install and not having to create the latched relay type circuit (pretty much just lazy) i went the 530t route as they do it all internally.

all the info i have from the web and direct techs show the triggers to be a negative as well but this is not what i have found. the trigger wires rest at enough ground to actually operate the module and close the board. i know Amptech makes aftermarket boards very similar to these and i am now looking into using their control module or trying to get the schematic of how they did it........ thanks for the replies

also i am just using the 2 thicker gauged wires(motor wires) to the 530t and not using the 3 thinner guaged wires. if i connect power to 1 motor wire and ground the other it does continue to operate after it reaches mechanical travel limits. so no its not like a power antenna and the reason i chose to use the modules. i am sure i couldve spent a few more hours designing a circuit to use the remaining 3 wires to limit the boards operation but again just lazy i guess when the 530t will do it for you internally.
