I'm trying to install a pk06 (pkg7) bypass on a 03 malibu.
The diagram that came with the module shows
Green(Resistor Code Input) -> Splice into switch side White wire
Blue (Resistor Code Output) -> Splice into BCM(?) side White wire
PURPLE / White(12 volt Output) -> Splice into switch side RED / White wire
Red (12 volt Input) -> Splice into BCM(?) side RED / White wire
Purple (Data Output) -> Tap into Green wire
Orange (12 volt Starter in) -> ?
The ignition switch has 4 small wires (which I assume are the only ones related to the passlock)
White , Black , Yellow , Green
Do I just need to to splice into the white wire as posted above? The rest aren't used? I haven't cut into them as of yet to get any readings, at this point I wouldn't know what readings I should be looking for. Appreciate any clarification on this pita.

Well after doing more research...I've come up with
I'm trying to install a XK06(PKG7) on a 2003 malibu. I'm looking for clarification on how it should be wired in. From the research I've done I have concluded that:
(Put the XK06 in series with the yellow wire aka resistance output)
1.Cut the yellow wire going to my ignition switch
2.Connect the switch side of that yellow wire to the Green wire on the harness for the xk06.
3.Connect the BCM side of that yellow wire to the Blue wire on the harness for the xk06.
(Parallel the black wire from the xk to the black wire on the switch aka ground)
4.Cut the black wire and connect the black wire from the xk06 harness to both ends of the cut one.
(Parallel the red wire from the xk to the red wire on the switch aka 12v)
6.Cut the red wire (bigger gauge) and connect the red wire from the xk06 harness to both ends of the cut one.
7.None of the other wires on the xk's harness are used.
Is this correct?

I went and started wiring in the rest of the remote start, avoiding the passlock for the time being. It has been pretty straight forward, however, I did run into something that I'm not 100% sure on.
Tach wire located at the ecm. I found a PURPLE / white wire coming right out of the firewall heading to the ecm (or so i believe). It's in a huge bundle of wires that has only about 4-6 inches of travel between the firewall and the ecm.
I'm fairly confident that it is the correct wire for the tach as it was the only PURPLE / white wire I could find. The problem arose when I tried taking some voltage readings off of it. The most I ever saw was about .8 volts and as low as .1 volt. Voltage didn't seem to change with the rpm. I suppose it could be pulsed dc which could explain the voltages or the lack thereof that I was reading. Can't really test it as I don't have an o-scope atm.
Anyone have any idea what I should see on that tach wire? Does it sound like I have the correct one?

I figured out why the passlock bypass wasn't making a bit of sense to me. xk06 (pkg7)..... I need firmware version PLXR, and wha-la the print makes perfect sense now.
