Seems like it is the same for 2001 to 2004

All circuits should be verified with a digital multi-meter prior to making any connections.

Except the Audi equivalents seemed to be jumping into CAN at the time, lots of spec and wiring colour changes so be careful.

Everything went smooth on the install
The trunk pop is best gotten in the door, It was brown with blue stripe.
the plastics around steering column was a PITA. I couldn't get the bottom part off due to the forward facing screws(behind steering wheel)
The ignition harness is assessable further down the column. Just take in account the column moves up and down and telescopes.
Although most tech site mentioned the Comfort module under the carpet in front of the driver seat. I found it to be to time consuming to even get to that thing.
nothing else out of the ordinary

Good for you, not difficult technically but what an evil mustard (applies to ALL VW/Audi) to get at, especially the ignition wiring. I usually end up pulling the instrument panel to ease getting at the loom!
Also on our (UK) cars that processor is on the left on the floor whereas the rest is driver's side!
Did an A3 last week, vacuum pump and factory alarm and door hatch and hood contacts, left hand rear, everything else, right hand front, siren and tach, left hand engine bulkhead!
