2007 dodge ram quad cab

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Laramie edition w/ premium audio Mp3 cd change non-nav. I am planning on installing an aftermarket radio and bought a Pac-audio C2R-CHY4 radio replacement interface. The problem I have encountered is that the Radio has 2 input plugs(6pin and 22pin), the 6 pin is not adressed by the pac-audio device. After connecting the pac-audio wires to the aftermarket radio using the 22 pin factory plug it does not work. I would like to know if anyone has the wireing diagram for the wires connected to the factory radio, specifically the 6 pin connector as I cannot find anywhere on the internet that addresses this plug. What doesn't work? Power? Sound? Some detail on the radio you are installing would also be helpful. The install details for the C2R-CHY4 don't show the need for the other plug for both factory amp and no-factory amp.

The factory radio is the "RAQ – AM/FM/CD (6-DISC) RADIO", it has 2 plugs going in from the car. Yes, the C2R-CHY4 does not mention the other plug, only the 22 pin plug which is the one I wired to the aftermarket radio. I got no response from the aftermarket radio after the radio wire connection, so I placed the factory radio back for the moment. Thanks for cking the post... I was interested in the model of radio you are installing. Could you post what wires you hooked up where between the PAC unit and your new after market HU? Just power is enough for now; Battery, IGN and Ground. (Red, Yellow, Black) Did you check any of the connections with a volt meter? What did you use for the ground wire?

The radio is a chinese brand bought from ebay. Double din 7 inch w DVD and BT non GPS. Not a great radio, but for the price not gonna complain (sensitivity rating was 85 ) unless its the radio unit that isn't working. . The install wiring instructions are pretty clear and the wires were connected yellow from the pac-audio unit to yellow on the radio, black to black and the accessory to accesory, not sure the color right now but I followed the diagrams closely. I will verify w/ a testor tomorrow, haven't had much time but will work on it tomorrow. I'm just really trying to find out if the other factory plug has something to do with the power or speaker connection to anything. WillDodge 2007 Laramie

PAC audio is a reputable brand, I have only worked with them a little but others on the Forum recommend their product a lot. I am guessing the left over factory plug shouldn't be a problem. Do you have a 12v power supply to test the radio? Otherwise you can connect the Red and Yellow to +12v and Black to GND and see if the radio at least powers on. If the radio does work, then install the PAC piece and check for voltage at the yellow and red with the key on and off. Start there. If you aren't getting voltage out of the PAC piece I would contact the person you bought it from or PAC directly as its possible you may have a defective piece. Also, the install guide mentions using a relay if the accessory wire current draw is in excess of 1amp. If you test and get voltage on both +12v and ACC but the radio won't power up you may need to add the relay for additional power.

Changed the accessory wire to the other 12v input. The radio worked flaulessly. Found that the other harness were wires related to the radio control of the fader on the factory amp. Thanks for the help. havyDodge 2007 Laramie
