Avital 4103L 98 Pontiac grand prix gtp

I installed avital 4103L in my 98 Pontiac grand prix. I can start it with the remote, and lock and unlock my doors..I can't get the horn or park light's to work with the remote start keyless entry ave the trunk won't pop..I'm sure it's wired correctly do I need additional parts or is it in the programming?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks Dustin

I'm guessing that you connected the 4103's White Parking Light output wire to the G.P.'s Brown Parking Light wire at

the Headlight switch connector.  You also need to insert the supplied jumper into the correct pins on the side of the4103.  Molded into the plastic on the bottom side of the 4103 case by the jumper pins are the (+) and (-) location settings.

For the Horn to work, besides connecting the 4103's Brown Horn output wire to the G.P.'s Black horn wire, you must

set a 4103 programming option, Menu 1, Feature 1 to Option 2 through 5, depending on how long a beep you desire.

Alright thank you for the reply..I'm going to go make some changes..any advice on getting the trunk pop button to work from the remote I I've it hooked up at the glove box button??9"x

The G.P.'s BLACK/ White Trunk Release wire at the glove box switch is (+).  The 4103's Trunk Release output is (-).  You

will need a relay to make the polarity conversion to properly interface and operate the trunk release.  Obtain a 30/40 AmpSPDT relay with harness and an inline fuse holder with 15 Amp fuse.  Wire as follows :Relay Pin 85 to 4103 (-) Trunk Release outputRelay Pin 86 and 87 to +12V constant through the 15 Amp fuseRelay Pin 30 to G.P BLACK/ White Trunk Release wire @ switchRelay Pin 87a not used - insulate

You might try to find this wire listed by ReadyRemote and avoid the relay circuit, if your G.P. has Factory Remote Keyless

Entry ( you could make a direct connection from the 4103 to this wire )  :On vehicles with keyless entry, can also use Brown (-) at the trunk release relay, found to the left of the steering column.

My Brown seems to be +....

If you are using a DMM to check the Brown wire at the trunk release relay to the left of the steering column, it will read a static +12V.  That is the feed-through potential voltage from the other side of the relays coil.  That voltage reading should drop if you press and hold the trunk release button.  If you are sure you have the correct relay / wire, use a fused jumper wire ( say 5 Amp ) to briefly ground that Brown wire.  The trunk should pop / release.

Just to make sure..the Brown wire for the trunk is going to a relay to the left of the steering column. There are three of these relays there, the one I'm wanting has two green wires, a black /white wire, and the Brown wire..correct??

Not sure.  ( I just wire up a relay and use the (+) wire at the switch.)  Use a finger and your ears to figure out which one energizes / clicks with a regular trunk release. Soldering is fun!
