1997 Avalon amp location?

I have a 1997 Toyota Avalon with 4 speakers (actually 6....2 speakers plus 2 tweeters upfront, 2 speakers in the back doors).     I've seen reference to a factory amplifier located somewhere behind the glovebox, but I'm still not sure what I'm looking for.    Can I tell from the wiring if one is utilized?     I only had the factory amfm cassette stereo to start with.    I removed it, but I'm still trying to find out if I have an amp hiding somewhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing:   I just noticed that the wiring diagram in the vehicle database doesn't match up with the connector I have.     Very few of the colors match, and I have multiples of some colors (white for one).    There is a spare connector which I assume connected to a factory CD player, if I had one.       Anyone have an idea what is correct?

Latest update:    I gave up trying to locate the amp, as I didn't really want to take apart the dash/glove box area just to find it.    I went to BestBuy and purchased an amp integration cable (basically a cable with  a Toyota connector on one end and dual RCAs on the other).       I used this and completed the install in 30 minutes.   The cable was kinda pricey ($17.99), but quick to use.

The wiring diagram database here assumes "no amp" on the wiring, which is probably not correct for most Avalons.    Mine had just a basic cassette stereo and had a separate amp.     Just something for other Toyota/Avalon folks out there.    The wiring might be correct on the "output" side of the amp, but getting to the amp is a problem.     If someone can offer advice on getting to the amp, it would be good to post for future installers.
