Hi all,
Need HELP on radio wire colors/functions for a 1976 Caddy Coupe Deville.
No one seems to make a wiring harness for it, or know the correct wire colors.
If it helps, the colors I have are:
on one connector:
pink (think it's constant 12v)
yellow w/black stripe (think it's switched 12v)
on second connector:
2 light green wires (right speaker +&-)
2 black wires(left speaker +&-)
on third connector:
dark blue wire
Brown wire
not sure of these, but think they are antenna trigger and possibly antenna power, the actual antenna lead for reception is pretty obvious.
three connectors in total coming off the back of the radio, spaces for 10 pins total, eight active.
extra spaces on connectors one and three.
If anyone has any insight, I need it. I've got to get this land yacht on the road w/tunes before my '96 camry dies of a progressive oil leak (long story)
thanks,
Buggs

How bout using your multimeter to check the status of the wires. You can certainly verify constant and switched power this way. If you have power antenna you can check to see if the wire you think is the antenna wire gets power when you power the tuner. You can find things like the illumination wire the same way check its status as you operate the headlight switch. I dont know where to get you a diagram or I would. Hope this helps some anyway.
