So in the diagram you can see the pin numbers listed.
-Can anyone help me make heads or tails of what wire becomes what wire for an RCA to a sub amp?
-Are these four pins stereo or mono?
-what does each pin do? How do I hook an Amp to them?
I have tested pins 5 thru 8 like crazy. Everything minus an oscilloscope.
Results;
With headphones listening to the sound:
Pin 5 Common w/
Pin 6 = It's okay clear almost loudest
Pin 7 = Nothing
Pin 8 = Makes pop on contact then nothing.
Pin 6 Common w/
pin 5 = loudest slightly less than pin 7
pin 7 = Loudest
pin 8 = Quieter
Pin 7 Common w/
pin 5 = Nothing
pin 6 = Loudest
pin 8 = Makes pop on contact then nothing.
Pin 8 Common w/
pin 5 = makes pop on contact then nothing.
pin 6 = music at this one but not the loudest
pin 7 = Makes pop on contact then nothing.
Moving on I tested the DC voltage of each pin with a common car ground:
Pin 5 = -0.02 V
Pin 6 = 4.8 V
Pin 7 = -0.02 V
Pin 8 = 7.2 V
Next i tested the voltage compared to each pin:
Pin 5 Ground
Pin 6 = 4.85 V
Pin 7 = Nothing
Pin 8 = 7.21 V
Pin 6 Ground
Pin 5 = -4.85 V
Pin 7 = -4.85 V
Pin 8 = 2.36 V
Pin 7 Ground
Pin 5 = Nothing
Pin 6 = 4.85 V
Pin 8 = 7.21 V
Pin 8 Ground
Pin 5 = -7.21 V
Pin 6 = 4.85
Pin 7 = -7.21 V
Next I tested the ohms of the pins while the desk was off:
Pin 5 & 6 = 41 kohms
Pin 5 & 7 = .497 kohms
Pin 5 & 8 = 53.8 kohms
Pin 6 & 7 = 40.5 kohms
Pin 6 & 8 = 53.5 kohms
Pin 7 & 8 = 53 kohms
Next I tested the ac current with ground lead of the DMM to the car ground.
pin 5 = nothing
pin 6 = music movement on the anologue display
pin 7 = nothing
pin 8 - nothing
Next I took the individual wires that lead to the stock sub amp and pluged them in to the corresponding pins they normally go into. Then i tried unpluging different ones to see what happens:
There are four wires that lead to the stock amp:
Grey/black = pin 4
Black = pin 3
GREEN/ Black = pin 2
Blue/Red = pin 1
If i unplug-
Pin 1 = halfs sound amplitude to sub
Pin 2 = music quits to sub but some faint faint poping of some kind
Pin 3 = Nothing Changes in sub.
Pin 4 = No sound to sub.
So can anyone figure out how to hook up STEREO or DUAL mono RCAs to the AMP >PBT-GF30< block plug on the back of the 6 disc CD changer or sound system of the newer fords?
