Quick Question:

I am Looking for a remote start wiring diagram for a 2004 Jeep Liberty.

I am also looking for the wire that controls the window up feature. (sounds pretty Cool)

Any help would greatly be appreciated..

Thanks..

Bob

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.

Great info. Does the 04 Liberty have any type of PATS in the key?

If it has gray headed key then it has Sentry Immobilizer, it it has black headed key, then there's nothing.

1WAM-S from Compustar is the one I install day in and day out. Great unit with no problems.

What kind of pulse combination does it accept ? I really want to stick with my OEM remotes.

"I really want to stick with my OEM remotes."
Just remember you are then limited to the range of your OEM system. If you can't unlock the doors from inside the house, you won't be able to remote start it either.
As for the liberty you have probably one of the easiest vehicles out there to do an install on. Drop the hinged panel that covers the steering column and you can access every wire you need. No disassembly required in this vehicle.
Constant: Red & Pink/Black (+) @ Steering Column
Ignition: RED / Blue (+) @ Steering Column
Accessory: BLACK/ Orange (+) @ Steering Column
Accessory 2: BLACK/ White (+) @ Steering Column (Optional for remote start)
Starter: Yellow (+) @ Steering Column
Horn: BLACK/ Red (-) @ Steering Column
Park Lights: Light GREEN/ Orange (-) @ Steering Column - You should use a 1k ohm resistor on this wire, but it works just hitting it with a straight ground, no resistor needed.
Brake: WHITE/ Tan (+) @ Steering Column
If you noticed the pattern, ALL the wires listed above are in the SAME harness @ the steering column. Run a ground wire, a hood pin, and tach if you want to use it and your done if installing a basic remote start.
If installing a full system, come over to the LEFT of the steering column now, and you can access your lock/unlock wire (need resistors), lock and unlock motor wires (for add-on systems), and your glass pop among other wires. Good luck,
Mike

I know Liberty also uses ground through reistors to lock and unlock the doors. When grabbing signal for the remote start, will the signal be strong enough coming from the keyless entry module ?
Thanx for all the help.

If your using a system that uses a (-) trigger for remote start, the lock trigger from the Jeep will work. If it's not a strong enough signal you can always use a relay to increase the signal strength. Also, make sure that the OEM remote control works if the Jeep is running. I can't remember if the OEM remote operates when the vehicle is running. Some imports have it so that the keyless entry doesn't function when ignition is powered up.
