Hello. I'm looking for some gurus to help me with a problem on my 2012 F-150 Lariat. I purchased and installed an Autotecpro unit--a huge, Tesla-like screen for my older F-150. It's pretty neat (and a little buggy) and, when wired according to their specs, only runs when the key is in run and the truck is running. But since it takes over Climate Control, it means that Remote Start no longer works as far as pre-heating or pre-cooling the truck. I'm in Michigan. That means 80-90 degree summers and 0-30 degree winters.
What I need is to splice into (or insert a new fuse) where there's power for both Remote Start -and- Run. Then I'll cut into the power wire for the Autotec and power it from the new 12v wire. Now, when I remote start, the unit will boot and can turn on Climate Control. I'll lose the ability for the Lariat to shoot for 72 degrees, but I can leave the truck in the desired climate condition when I exit. Winter is coming, so I'd get home and, before shutting off the truck, turn the climate to 75-degree and defrost.
Does anyone know how I can find a 12v source that fires up on Remote Start and keeps on truckin' as I turn the key to on? A new fuse would be dandy, but I wouldn't mind splicing. So far, after days of surfing, I only know that engine-related 12v's are on (obviously), and can only guess that SOMEWHERE there must be a Climate Control 12v on (since the original wiring did that). Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Keep on truckin'!

Hello. A console upgrade I'm doing requires 12v during Remote Start and also when you turn the key to run. This is a 2012 F-150 Lariat, no LCD screen, auto climate control.
Does anyone know where I can insert another fuse, or tap into an existing fuse, to get 12v during both RS and run? From what I've read, most of that is under the hood: ignition system, etc. (to run the engine). But somewhere there must be Climate Control power wire that fires up, because the truck, when you start it remotely, automatically conditions to 72 degrees, summer or winter. To do that during RS must mean that the climate control system has power.
Could I splice into climate control? Where -is- climate control? Which fuse? Could I insert my own fuse next to it so that I don't overload the existing fuse? Help!
Keep on truckin'!
