hello,

I just purchased a new '03 chevy trailblazer and I wanting to connect my radar detector to a switched 12v power source.   any suggestions/directions on where would be welcomed....

i realize the fuse panel is under the left rear seat but i was wondering where would be the proper place to make connections...

thanks,

greg

Hello Greg,  when you plug your radar detector in (with the engine off)does it come on ?  If it does your 12 outlet is not  switched.  You can tie into the back of the 12 volt outlet and use the on/off switch of the unit to turn it on.  Or you can just tie it to the accessory lead of your stereo to let it come on when you start up the vehicle.   Brian

Go straight to the ignition wires under the steering column ( some disassembly required ) and tap into the PINK wire.

thanks jeff and brianh.....

i might get up the nerve to do surgery on my TB this weekend.....   i just have 400 miles on it and really hate to start messing with it so soon...     i really like this vehicle ...   i have owned 3 of the older blazers (87,92,98), but this one is the best chevy so far...

by the way,   anybody know what the small speaker-looking device is on the b-pillar beside the driver's head is??

is it the mic for the onstar????
