has anyone had a if box error when they tried the to hook up a cva 1003 i have been tring to test if video is working on this unit so i tried the switch way by hooking up a switch to the yellow and blue wire and a button to the yellow and blk wire and then i tried it but as soon as i flip the switch on i get if box error help pleazze

Your sequence has to be done smoothly and quickly for the unit to accept the proper sequence.

i found what the problem was but now i have a new one the if box error is look the expantion  box now tha i know that i cant get in to the set up to change it does any one know how to do this i pres and hold it but nothing happens but the mute part is working

you have to do that sequence thing to get into setup menu as well after you do the sequence press and hold setup button for like 4 5 secs or so than let go it should let you in setup.. the expansion box is something for the navigation part there is a section cant remember what though and you haev to turn it off just once you get in to the setup menu use 1 thru 6 to scrol through different menus and use the corresponding button to jump through that menu
example to get to menu two option 2 you press
the # 2 button to take you to menu 2 and then press 2 , two more times to scroll through menu to. then read screen for on and off and so on.

thanks guys i think i got this part now what i need help with is tring to find the + wire for my brake pedal  question now does it matter where these wires go as long as its a pos and neg  and is the on off on off on fast or slow

drop the dash and locate the plug on top of the brake pedle. and test it to see what wire shows positive only when pressing the pedle down.i belive it is blue/red this wire connects to the yellow/black positive input wire and a toggle switch or the hand brake ground connects to yellow/blue.

ok next problem now that you guys have help me solve some problems now another one comes up now that i can get video i hook up my dvd and can't get any video u can get sound but no video so i uninstaled it took it in the house and hooked it up to my home dvd same issue if i move the plug around a bit i can get a little video it looks like the v hold is messed up or something the biggest thing is i got it uned and sent it to alpine to get repaired and just got it alpine sucksssss
