I work at a custom stereo shop in texas.  we havent had much experience with navigation, really hasnt been a big demand untill lately. i have a problem. my customer needs a complete navigation system for his car,he wants something cool looking, and something we can custom fit in dash. we showed him the piece from magellan but he thought it looked like crap. my other problem is that i need it by tuesday of nextweek. we have also been told that not all systems work in all locations

The price the customer is looking at spending would help with suggestions, also is he just looking for nav or does he want any extras?

For $2500 at retail, I would recommend using alpine's NAV-N751AS and a really cheap monitor, you will also need to get ahold of an adapter to convert the nav to the monitor. If you can't get ahold of the alpine unit at cost or wholesale then there would be very little profit. This also brings up what the customer is looking for, the unit that I listed needs 7 cds to cover the us. Since he doesn't like the garmin piece then if he wants anything better he needs to spend a little more. The extras I mentioned where more along the lines of a flip out screen or other video.
