Hello,  I have an Alpine CVA-1005 with a flip down monitor attached to the display output of the brain.   You can only view the aux1, aux2 and Nav on the flip down monitor.

I have noticed on other cars that their alpine radio menus are being displayed on all of the monitors.  The same image that you see while  playing a cd or the radio can be viewed on all monitors.

Does anybody know how they do this since the CVA-1005 has only one plug for the actual screen on the dash and the video display output seem to only worh with aux1, aux2 and Nav.

There is a built in circuit that prevents the user from displaying dvds and other screen functions when car is moving. I know how to prevent this from happening if your interested.

I believe they use a audio/video switching unit to plug into the input channels of the CVA brain. This will allow you to switch between different sources and also allow you to split the signal to various montiors within the vehicle and have the same image appear on all of them.
