Hello all,

I'm new around here and I looked and couldn't find the answer to my question so I'll post it here. I've got a CVA-1000 and I'm interested in being able to hook video up to it (rear view camera, XBOX, etc) I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this. I've heard that there are cables that you can buy... Perhaps someone has the plans to said cable ? Please advise

Also, if anyone has a PDF version of the CVA-1000 manual I'd love a copy of it.

Phoenix, I also have a cva 1000 but have found a way to modify it to accept video inputs like you described. It involves soldering an rca jack to one of the inputs i'll have to re-check my connections and then i'll get back to you on this question. CVA-1000 and Video in -- posted image.

I have installed many of those and I'm sure that you dont need to solder anything to Alpine equipment .The control box has video in plugs , and as a in dash monitor it was designed to support aux video in , I am curious what input he soldered to and if his unit still works ? Maybe they were 1005's , but even if , there design was to be user friendly , cause if you had to hard wire them , how would a warranty work on a unit that was altered with like that . I keep getting double notices about posts and on this I realize that there was confusion from my original reply , like I stated it may have been , they were all 1005's and a couple newer 1003's , I remember now the original 1000 and its design , it was not what I was referring to.

on the data cable going from the CVA 1000 Brain to the CVA 1000 monitor, there is a green wire.. if you peel back the insulation on the data cable, you will see that the green wire has a shield.. like a patch cable.. this is the nav video input to the monitor.. you can cut the green wire and the shield and solder a RCA connector to the cable going into the monitor, not the brain and just plug the video from the DVD into there.. for audio, you can do it two ways.. one will only work if you have a changer... you will need an ALPINE model 801B.. this will interupt the audio from the changer to use an AUX input.. it has a blue wire in it.. just put 12v+ on it from a switch.. or go FM mod.. yuck.. these are the only ways I've done it.. they may be more..

the CVA-1000 has NO AUX A/V inputs... only CVA-1005, 1006, 1003, and the 801have A/V in..
