I have just installed a SONY indash LC and a dvd player in my glovebox. The Radios picture is perfectly clear when cd info is displayed on it but when i turn it to video one i notice some horizontal lines moving through the screen they are very prominent when the dvd is playing but i slao notice them on the black screen. I had my installer ground out the pwoer for the dvd and place a filter on the power line. The sony unit already has an inline fuse and some sort of filter accorfing to my guy. Should i put one on the power for the headunit? should i also ground the AV connection box? HELP PLEASE .......

Well this very Common Problem in dvd and screen and it because of bad installation or bad wiring....you problem will be ok if you run new power and ground direct to battery and if you still get those then you need to rewire ...in back of dvd player ..short all wire ...Do not use long wires..use good RCA and with ground wire on it....locate godo ground with noise locator...becuause yoru screen having AC current pulse

if still you get that lines then use 5 amp four diode ..make rectifier and use on cap of 2200uf 50V ...and use to power your screen because you car having ac pulse from your alternater and it's too strong if it's old car check yoru rectifier diode inside car

i dont know who muhamamd is but running wires straight to batter in an instance is not acceptable . one you want the shortest ground you can possible get in every aspect of car installations. the less wire the less resistance. the greater the output power. check your rca from dvd to radio make sure their gold plated cause if there not best bet the connection stinks. it is not to common to get noise from a dvd to a video monitor or radio. just change rcas to gold plated and as short as youc an get them but long enough for what you need. try that email me for any other info

have seen this happen with a PS2 and it was a cheap DC/AC inverter.. guy had one of those 300watt Radio Shack specials.. we put one of our 150 watt inverters and problem solved..

I agree with everyone here about the bad wiring, check the ground, because thats what it usually is. Also chech all of the RCA wires. Let me know
