I am installing a Blaupunkt DVD Player (DVD-ME3) and Clarion monitors (VMA7194) into my Trailblazer.  The Blaupunkt player includes an external IR receiver.  The Clarion monitors have an IR receiver with the same type of connector as the Blaupunkt Player for the external IR receiver.  I have a diagram for the IR connector polarity for the Clarion monitors.

Does anyone have the polarity diagram for the Blaupunkt receiver or know if it is just plug and play with no fear of equipment damage?  Also, is it possible to use a splitter and plug both the external IR receiver and the IR input from the monitors into the receiver?

Check the Blaupunkt install instuctions. You won't need the Clarion IR's if you plan on using DVD source from the Blaupunkt DVD player. Clarion IR's will allow you to switch VIDEO inputs INTO the actual monitors, something you won't need unless PS2 or other peripheral is added.

True, but these monitors have an IR receiver that has an output on the cable so that you don't have to use another external IR receiver.  These monitors have no remote and the IR receiver is designed to be used as the external IR receiver instead of running yet another cable and finding a place to stick the external IR receiver included with the DVD Player.  I would have thought nothing of it, but Clarion posts a warning in the manual that states check the polarity of the player you are plugging into.
