Would like to hear from anyone who has installed their AVIC-N1 in 5.1ch mode along with the DEQ-P8000 and AXM-P8000
Am I right in saying that only audio from the DVD section of the AVIC-N1 gets output over the optical connection, and that if you want to use the AVIC-N1 to listen to radio, XM, or any other source, you need to manually select the input on the AXM-P8000 (using its remote) to the analog input?
Is there a way to get the AXM-P8000 (DEQ-P8000) to switch sources automatically so that the AVIC-N1 can still be the main source selector without having to rely on the AXM remote?
What have other people done, especially when other sources (XM, TV tuner, standalone DVD) are hooked up along with the AVIC-N1 in 5.1ch mode? Do you use the AXM-P8000 as the IP bus master (and leave the AVIC-N1 standalone) or chain everything to the AVIC-N1's IP bus?

Beh, I guess I should have gotten a used AVH-7500DVD and AVIC-88DVD instead.  No NavTraffic but the surround features at least work conveniently and plus DVD-Audio support.  Live and learn.
