I have a 96 Grand Voyager, I have replaced the ignition switch, the turn signal/wiper assembly. I was told that would fix the problem. I lose(shuts down)my speedometer, the fuel gauge, the tachometer and the water temperature gauge. They go in pairs,(usually the same two each time) or it all goes(shuts down)at once. When it all goes, I lose the gear shift indicator as well. Yesterday I lost the A/C button power indicator as well. Any ideas on this would be gratefully appreciated.

i am not really familiar with that vehicle as far as the instrument cluster goes but heres a couple of ideas. It sounds like a connector plug may not be plugged in all the way. the cluster probably has at least one harness going to it. this would definately explain the intermittant part. This next one is a long shot, but take your car to the high pressure car wash and spray the front windshield. then check to see if any water is leaking in pay extra attention to the pillars. if water is getting in it can make your electrical system do all kinds of crazy things.

good luck

Try to get a wiring manual for the vehicle and look for a common point among the affected circuits. It is possible a common ground connection is to blame.
