bussed fusebox useable for custom wiring?

Hi everybody, I have a 1971 BMW 2002 project car that the wiring was an absolute disaster in. Long story short, all of that wire is gone, and I really want to make my own harness. Every once in a while I'd think about drawing up my wiring diagram, but would stop before I really got anywhere. Now I've obviously started, but remembered one of the problems I faced before - the fuse box I intend to use is bussed. It's a modular bussman box for blade fuses, with 20 spots. 6 of them are bussed to one post on one end underneath, and the other 14 are bussed to another post. I'm sure I'll have to use a couple of fuses outside of the box because of this, but do I have any chance of running most of the cars electronics through this? Bussing grounds and fusing the ground side? Is that OK? Would grouping that many grounds together (not quite as isolated) potentially cause a problem? Also what about if the fuse is not on the same side of the load as the switch? Are there any decent looking blade type fuse blocks with about that many fuses? The typical project fuse blocks with like 4-6 fuses just look a little ugly to me to use unless I hide them. I know it would be easier too, but I'd also like to stay away from the Painless style wiring harnesses. Hmm..

Actually they both look adequate but please do one thing.... mount the damn thing in a warm dry place INSIDE the car.
