static cling vs regular window tint?

hey guys i have a quick question that i cant seem to find an answear to....im planning to tint my tailights and i bought what i thought was regular window tint but its not i never heard of it but but its supposed to be static cling and its supposed to do the same but it is removable, it also looks much more flexable to work with but my question is will it work as good as regular tint?

Are your taillight lenses plastic?

The cling stuff will probably work as good or better than conventional film, since the lenses are plastic.
