i installed a cd player a while back and a couple months or so after doing so, i have to turn the dimmer switch up and turn on the dome light(part of the swich, 93 caprice) in order for the sound to come out of the speakers. when i turn on the dome light i can push the dial back down to the low dimmer/domelight off possition and the dome light stays on and dim..
i checked the stereo wiring and it IS right, and i took the dimmer dial switch out and cleaned it and that didnt help, but when i took the fuse out for the dimmer switch then it was fine.
but i needed it in for door locks so i put it back in and took the dome light bulb out.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Graham.

Copy and paste that exact problem in the Car Audio fourm...there are some great knowledgeable guys in there that could probably answer that one. Unfortunately i'm fairly new in the install world and you have a big problem that I can 't solve...but i am interested in seeing what the reply is.
