OK, my sons car, 93 Hyundai Excel, we are blowing the fuse every time we apply he brakes, (just started doing this) all I have done is install the system, so I did not touch any brake wires, I realize I probably have a short somewhere, but where do I start? how do you trace down a short?

Take one of the blown fuses and grind the plastic away to expose a bit of the metal of each of the 2 contacts. Solder a wire to each leg of the fuse. solder those 2 wires to any 12 volt lamp. Now when you press the brake, that light will illuminate brightly. When yoiu find and remove the short, it will only be half as bright as it was in the beginning.

The brake light wire travels from the drivers side kick panel to the trunk. Remove the door sills and look for a screw through the wire.
