I need a regulated constant power supply for my 12v RF controller. I have a big Callex DC-DC converter hooked up at the moment but the battery is going flat once a month. I was gonna try one of those solar panels but i'm not sure it will work.

Any help would be appreciated.

How much current does it need to be?

I'm not really sure to be honest, but the DC-DC converter puts out 310ma on the 12v output and that seemed to work OK.

I took some current measurements today. (first ones ever xp)

Calex DC-DC and Controller:

Static : 27.8ma

1 Relay: 73.1ma

Just Controller:

Static : 8.5ma

1 Relay: 47.8ma

It just needs to power up to 3 tiny 10A relays for up to 5 seconds, but the controller needs to be active at all times.

Sorry I don't have any more information but theres nothing on the RF controller I have.

I would do an alternator and battery discharge test. That static draw isn't much more than an alarm. Is the vehicle used every day?
