beginner dj?

I'm in high school and I have always wanted to be a DJ because music is all I've ever known and its my passion. I know that there is a lot of required equipment, I want to get started and buy what I need, but I have no idea where to begin. I want to find out what the good brands are for sound systems, that are at a really low price, so where should I start? I do not really know much of the technical terms or really that much about any of it but I'd love some advice!

There are a few different ways to DJ these days. You can use turntables, CDJs, or just a MIDI-controller. Every DJ has their own style and tastes, so what works for one, may not work for you. Like Ispker said, try renting a few different set-ups to see how they feel and to see which works best for you. It is generally pretty cheap to rent ($20-$60) and you will usually get everything you need for that price. When you do find your preferred set-up, start doing more in-depth research on what you are looking for.
