I'm in high school and I have always wanted to be a DJ because music is all I've ever known and its my passion. I know that there is a lot of required equipment, I want to get started and buy what I need, but I have no idea where to begin. I want to find out what the good brands are for sound systems, that are at a really low price, so where should I start? I do not really know much of the technical terms or really that much about any of it but I'd love some advice!

Most guys rent what they need to start, till you get known, then you play in places that have all the equipment.

Usually, all you need is the music.

There are a few different ways to DJ these days. You can use turntables, CDJs, or just a MIDI-controller.
Every DJ has their own style and tastes, so what works for one, may not work for you. Like Ispker said, try renting a few different set-ups to see how they feel and to see which works best for you.
It is generally pretty cheap to rent ($20-$60) and you will usually get everything you need for that price.
When you do find your preferred set-up, start doing more in-depth research on what you are looking for.
