It is me again. My question is should my cars electronics be disconnected before any any welding is done to the car? I am just afraid some thing will get fried. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,masterg1

IMO - yes, definitely - but probably only the battery.
Others can update for modern cars...
The old advice was to disconnect the +12V for (MIG) welding.
Why +12V and not -ve (GND) beats me - though they had some logic (which I thought was flawed)...
But since GND is always disconnected when playing with the hot (+12V) connection, that should just mean BOTH battery terminals are disconnected together. That's fine.
I also bolt the +ve & -ve (battery terminal) leads together to short any induced spikes, but I do not have stiffening caps, nor voltage-switches or other batteries connected (unless the alternator is charging).
IMO signal wires should be protected enough, but that's where others can advise.
