I have been trying to take off my door panel for the last month at least and every time I try I get a little closer, but now I'm completely stuck.  The door handle just will not come off, and I can't get a good look at it.  I have taken off all the other screws, the window crank, and popped off all the plastic tabs too many times.  Does anyone know how to remove the door handle mechanism so that I can pop off the door?  Thanks a lot.

Ok from my expereance with removing door paneling you want to do all the things you did before and then rotate the panel so that the door handle can slip through the small hole right next to it in other words the hadle doesnt come off

if you are trying to remove the door to do speakers, just pop off the grill and the speakers are easily accessible

The door handle is bigger than the hole that it covers, so i can slip it through.  I'm trying to remove the door panel for many reasons, one is just to be able drill holes for my door (I can't drill top holes because the panel is in the way), and two is that I want to customize my door panel; paint it, cover the fabric part with vynal, and other stuff.  This seems to be a really difficult problem becuase no other doors are made as retardedly as this one.  But thanks for the help and I will try rotating the panel and trying to slide off the handle.

I meant to say that "I can't slip it through"

You will net to pop out a small clip that is used to hold the door handle, just pry the door handle out form the door panel a bit with a screw driver and then use a second screw driver or needle nose pliers and remove the small clip, and the door handle will pop off, you will have to install that clip after to put the door handlew off, it a bitch to do the first time, but the second door will be snap.
