Try checking out Mobile Dynamics in Toronto.  That is relatively close.

I graduated Mobile Dynamics, with honors and a 1st class MECP certificate.  RITOP is an good school, but being taught by Derek Lee of Mobile Dynamics' Toronto campus would be quite the honor.

the basic test has a few tough security questions, but if you study the material well, you will be fine.  For the 1st class exam, you need one year of experience, so those questions should be easier to handle because of the hands on experice during that time.  Don't get me wrong, MECP is testing for advanced security knowledge, so it's not a walk in the park.  Just study well and watch the really good alarm installers.

go to mobiledynamics website and click on the MECP link.  That will take you to the MECP website where that have recommended reading and the such.  If i were you, I would order the MECP study guide.  This also includes side notes for studying for the masters test, so this guide is very detailed.  Also order the specialist guides.  They are similar to the study guide, but a little bit more broken down.  After that, it's all up to you.
