am trying to understand just exactly how the radio on until door open relay design actually works.  I can see how the radio stays on and how there is a break in the circuit while the door is open, but why doesn't the radio turn back on when the door is closed.  I mean the circuit is the same when the door is closed so how does the circuit differ from after the door has been opened the first time.  I guess I just don't understand why the radio doesn't turn on after the door is closed after you open it.

Thanks,

Ken

The relay diagram is at https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp#drto

In the diagram the relay coil on the left is always energized. When a door is opened, the door trigger turns on the coil of the relay(on the right)and by doing this it shuts the power off to the radio. The radio should act normally after the door is shut. If it doesnt, there might be a wiring problem. Good luck with it!
