Which converter do I need to supply power to my car amplifier from my house?

jl audio 250/1

I know radio shack has some ac to dc 12volt converter. But I do not know which amperage, they have 1000ma, 500ma,300ma 12 volt converters.

What does the (ma) represent? I thought (a) was for amperage.

i would say at least a 30 amp but i would go with a 40 amp regulated supply. this will cost you about 120 dollars or so ..

sorry i meant to say i would go with a 50 amp supply but A 30 could work ok but if the amp's volume is raised all the way it may come short of the current it needs probably causing distortion and maybe shutting down from overheating. Go with bigger than needed if posible!!A 50 amp tripplite should supply that current and then some fo rthat amp and it may cost about 200 tops for this so it may be pricey. Also this power supply will make a great bench tester if ever needed. Stay away from the radio shack suplies they are inferior to tripplite and i would not risk one they are not as regualated which is no good for the amp.
