I am having trouble with a Command Start remote starter.  The car was purchased used and I do not have the manual for the starter.

This is what I know.  The remote is a command start two button one.  On the back of the remote it says model no: CS-555.  When the #1 button is pushed the remote beeps but the car does nothing.  When the #2 button is pushed the alarm (???) arms and dis-arms.  With the on-off switch in either position in the vehicle and pushing both # 1 & 2 buttons the lights flash 10 times.  The vehicle will not start with the remote starter.

What do I do next???

ck auto,

I need to program it to start the car, all other commands are working such as, the parking lights all flash when you press the buttons on the remote, but it is failing to start the car, not sure what to do with it now. When you press the start button nothing happens, the hood pin was stuck and the wire leading to the pin was damaged( I think I got it caught in the hood support bracket a few times) that was one other problem we encountered, but those have been taken care of, remote battery is new, so that is not the problem, I think when we were messing around with it, we reset it and cleared the commands memory, does that make sense?

Kirk,

It does not make a difference when we disconnect the battery, it is still not working, it is getting a signal as it is flashing the park lighs, but will not start, does the unit need to be programmed as if it is new? I have the sequence for that as well.

If you disconnect the battery does it reset all of the programming in the starter or will it just reset the "tach locking" problem?
Would disconnecting the battery help in my situation? See above.
