Does anyone ever come across this problem?

I've got a 1997 BMW 528i and there's a problem with the driver's seat power controls. It's seems to affect the steering wheel power tilt also. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. The passenger seat is working perfectly though. It happened before but then I got it fixed after  a little accident this winter . My insurance covered the body work and all. The repair shop somehow fixed the problem until now. It seems to be happening again. I can't figure it out, no power in the controls. Could someone shed some light?  much help needed.

Congoman,

I have the exact same car and what do you know, just yesterday i have the exact same problem with my driver seat also.  This is the first time it happens to me.  The dealer wants $150 just to look at it, so i thought i'd try to fix it myself first.

Also, the volume knob on my radio doesn't work either.

Any light shed on these problems would be much appreciated.  Thanks!
