This is not the normal topic, but I would like to ask you guys if you could help.  I know we are all audio/video enthusiasts, and are always willing to help each other out.  Thats what I ask of all you guys and gals.  I had a Clarion VRX935dvd player, Clarion 6 disc, EQS 744 EQ, Satellite Radio and antenna I sold on Ebay (item#2477305833)because I REALLY needed the money for my honeymoon.  The guy sent me a check, and I trusted him and sent him the package.  It bounced, and he won't return my emails.  He apparently is a certified con artist.  I sent the package to 438 E Shaw Ave, STE 403 Fresno CA 93710.  He used the name Robert Sandoval with me.

I am asking any of us in Fresno CA is they can help me and see what is at this address, and if anyone knows anything about this guy.  He basically stole my equipment from me, without the glass breaking and all that stuff.  I have never been scamed before.  I am just an honest guy from Oklahoma.  Can say one word now though, PAYPAL, or should have sold it on the12volt.com.

Please, if anyone in the Fresno area could help.  If you would pm me I can give tracking #'s and other information.

Thanks, David Dyer

Likewise to what Forbidden said, is Ebay willing to help out at all? I sold all my equipment when my daughter was born, so I know the feeling of having to part with it, but for some waste of a life to do that to an honest person, that sucks. Keep us posted on how you turn out, hopefully someone on here is from Fresno.

Another thing you could do is to contact the seller of his one and only feedback to see where they sent the stuff. Maybe he gave them a valid address, and you could pursue that.

Yea, I have already done all this.  The previous seller was more of a newbie than me, and he left him positive feedback as soon as this jerk said he sent the check.  I have already contacted the other seller and he said that the check has already bounced, and he has filed a police report.  He sent his equipment to the same address as well.  I found that the address we sent to is actually a UPS distribution center.  I shipped the package on Wednesday, 19th at 2:30PM and it was picked up on Friday, 21st at 2:50PM.  I shipped it UPS 3 day express.  It took barely 48 hours to get from Hugo, OK to Fresno, CA, halfway accross the nation.  What I am saying is me and the other people who have been scammed by this guy have all shipped UPS to the same address and they have all been picked up strangely early.  We think he works for UPS.  Anyway, if someone knows anything, please let me know, and thanks for the posts guys, and NINsane18 I feel your pain.  Just think of having to part with it to a butthead who doesn't pay you, so now you have no pimp gear or benjiman's in your pocket for your honeymoon.

I've been ripped off twice by ebay (and i've only had 3 transactions in total!).   1 time was when i bought an audiobahn amplifier.....and never received it.....   I paid and lost 500 bux.   My credit card company (VISA) was more than happy to re-emburse me after a lot of paperwork, and a few months of time.   The second was an eclipse head unit.....received it but it doesn't emit sound (help me with that if you can), and I'm still working on my refund.   Basically, your options are limited, and a lot of work on your behalf.   First, follow the ebay's Fraud Protection Program syllabus:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/bidders_nonpaying.html

By using that link, you can report him, and start the reclamation process, to get your money back.

I would also call the UPS location you sent your equipment to, and tell the manager, or highest ranking person, the name of the person you sent it to.   I trust if you state your story, UPS will help you out.   Make sure you have the tracking number ready, and all information.   Also, be sure to let them know you trust they will handle the matter appropriately (doing this will encourage them to handle the matter as professionally as possible, working with you to get your money back).  Let them know how much everythign was worth...somebody will be in trouble when they realize this may be considered Grand Theft.
Also, go to your bank, and request a copy of the bounced check.  Tell them your story as well and they will probably help trace the buyer.  This is fraud, which is a serious crime.

I never took my case this far (because I don't know what would happen) but call the Fresno California Police Department.   Chances are, he's ripping off other people too afraid to call the police too.   This way they are aware of your case, and will work to take down this man, and put him away before attacking other innocent ebayers too!!!  Bring the copy of your check, a copy of the item listing, proof of shipment ETC.   They'll need all evidence possible!

AND FROM NOW ON, DO WHAT I DO!   DON'T BUY FROM SELLERS WITH LESS THAN 500 SALES, AND A FEEDBACK RATING OF LESS THAN 95%.   DONT SELL TO SELLERS WHO HAVEN"T BOUGHT MORE THAN 25 THINGS WITH A FEEDBACK OF 100%!!!!

Only problem with that is if everyone doesn't buy from these guys they wont ever get 500 sales, I'd go more by the feedback percent, 95-100% is the only trustable sales person. Though buying high quality stuff should only be done through people with high numbers of positive feedback (like 100+) from credible buyers whom you should contact first about a product. I sell on ebay myself and know what its like to be ripped off by buyers so like everyone else says "protect yourself first". I'd suggest only accepting money orders or paypal. And if your going to accept check make sure the buyer knows that their gona have to wait an additional week for the check to clear (standard practice for most sellers). Thats my 93 cents.

Yea, I have done all of this.  Fresno Police knew who I was talking about when I said his name.  They even said his address when I gave them his name.  There are numerous other cases out against him.  One big setback is that I live in Oklahoma and this is in Fresno CA, so I can't just run down to the station and let the detective know what's new.  The other setback is I sold my stuff for my honeymoon, and now I won't be able to get my $1500 bucks before I go.  Guess we will be eating at McDonald's and hitting the free sites because some jerk decided that my stuff was more important to him than it was to me.

Anyway, enough of the soapbox.  I appreciate all the input, and I will post anything new.  Again, if any of you folks in Fresno get bored and decide you need something to do, pm me and I will give you all the information I and the other victims have compiled against thie guy.

Thanks, David Dyer

xtreamcc, I know exactly what you mean, regarding the buildup of sales or buys.  But what I mean is, don't sell 1500 dollars worth of stuff to a person with 1 transaction, and a feedback rating of 100%.   The person who I bought the eclipse head unit from had  about 50 transactions, and a feedback of 100%, and it was still a bum deal...  If you're only buying or selling a $20 product, then go ahead,  it's worth the chance.  Just be careful with the larger purchases and sales.  That's when you should leave it for the big-time ebayers....  Unless your money means nothing to you......
