I do not have a owners manual or wiring diagram for my 1999 Chevy Surburban and I have seemed to blow a fuse or relay that operates my cigarette lighters and power door locks. I have checked the fuse block under the hood but they all looked fine. Is there another block somewher or does anyone know what the problem may be. IThis occurred after i tried to use a 300 watt invered into the lighter.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Frank

First, don't just visually inspect the fuses, at least go buy a cheap test light or fuse tester and check them that way, it is too easy to glance over a blown fuse. Have you tried the fuse block on the drivers side of the dash? It will be behind a panel labeled "fuses" between the dash and the driver's door. Also there maybe a fuse box under the dash near the e-brake. A 300 watt inverter may be a little too large to run off a cig lighter, depending on what it is running.

Thanks I will take your advice and check with a test light. Are we testingt the fuse across the terminals for continuity. I found a fuse block under the dash but there are no fuses just relays. also no labels indicating anything close to cig Lighter etc.

I will look for another fuse block as you mention near the pedal area

There is a fuse panel located in the end of the driver's side dash and can be seen with the driver's side door open. There are two fuses for the cigarette lighters. One is labeled cig. lighter and the other is aux. power. One of these is blown. A 300 watt inverter is too much for these circuits. You should run a fused power source off the battery or the underhood main fuse panel for power.
