Currently I am making an MDF/fiberglass enclosure into the passenger trunk wall of a 1992 Subaru Legacy for one 8 inch sub.  I am considering putting another 8 inch sub into the opposite (drivers) trunk wall.  Will this sound good, or will it create too much cancellation?  The setup will look kind of like this:

  0_______0

sub             sub

There will be approximately 36-42 inches in between the subs.  All help is appreciated.

as long as the two speakers aren't on a parallel plane.. just angle them upward slightly or something and you're fine.
the waves have to be completely in phase to cancel.
