I'm looking to build a custom center console.  On it i'd like to have a central switch control unit,  where I can control amplifier cooling fans,  accent lights,  and other things.   Up until now,  for the cooling fans,  I spliced into the stock cigarette lighter receiver, and ran wires the teh back.  It doesn't seem like the safest thing to do.   How else can I get power, or how can I boost the load from the cigarette lighter????

use relays, and go to the fuseblock would probably be the safest
