when i hooked up my 1500D the guage lights would not work nemore i do not have a extra batt or an alt upgrade should i perform one of these

they wont work at all? Or just when the power to the amp is on? If they're not workin at all I'd suspect ur dimmer might have gona bad or u forgot to hook up the dimmer light to the CD player or something because an amp drain causes lights to dim, not just quit working.

remove the 1500D from the setup; remove the power/ground/remote on wires. if your guages work after that, then you have an idea of what it could be.

i found out what it was but when i change the fuse it just blows again i even tried a 5 amp fuse (it was 4 originally) any ideas

when i unhook the amp they still dont come on

CHeck all your wiring, sounds like you have one grounding out. Most likely your dimmer wire behind the head unit.
