Hello Everyone,

Not sure if this is the type of question you'll want to see, but I wanted to know if anyone knew which/where the fuse is for stock radios within a 2004 Ford Taurus?  Only reason I ask is because I have an MTX amp that includes the Smart Engage, but the amp is not getting the nominal required voltage from the speaker wires to turn on the smart engage from the factory head unit.  Therefore, I need to use the remote turn-on but can't seem to locate any fuse used turn on the head unit.  Looking in the car manuel booklet at the fuse box(es) and which fuse is for what, there is not fuse listed for the radio.  So, I was wondering if anyone knew which fuse is for the radio, if it has one located in the fuse box, or any other way or wires I could splice or use to turn on the amp?  I have tried a couple different fuse locations but it's the same old stuff...either the amp only comes on when turning an accessory on/off and not the radio, or the amp is on 24/7 when the car is on.

I would surely appreciate any information anyone can offer.  Thanks.

Tapping into the fuse box will only give you two options, 1, constant power which keeps your amp on till the battery dies, or 2 accessory, which turns the amp on when the key is turnned, this is your better choice.  The Taurus radio is in the left rear coner of the car, just behind the wheel well under the carpet.  If the car radio has output for power annt you could tap into it there.  Anyone know if it has this wire and its colour. (I drank to much to remember)
