     Opinions Please!
Not counting the cost of time or effort how do you compair SPL and SQ cost of product. Example amps, deck, speakers, neons.   Witch has more cost of equipment only.
                          More opinions the better. Thanks

I am assuming you are asking which costs more to acheive, from an equipment stand point, sq or spl. I think it depends on who you are competing against. I regularily win SPL contest around where I live and I only have about 1500 bucks into my system. My friend who takes most of the sq contests has about 5500 hundred into gear. But If I needed to go up say 5 db to win then I could very easily spend 5-6k. The deck is important in spl but is far more important in sq. As far as amps go, you pay for power in spl, and for quality in sq. While I may be able to get a good MTX amp for spl for about 700 bucks retail, if I wanted sq I would be more proned to look at arc audio, or nakamichi or audison. I wont get as much power but it will be far cheaper. So I guess in the end, with all other things being equal in regards to install and what not it doesnt matter what you spend as long as what ever you have is better then your next closest competitor.

If you compair the cost of equipment from the highest scoring SPL vehicle and the best sound quality vehicle which would have the most cost of equipment only? Example subs, deck, amps, batterys, neons, rims exc... Whithout taking into consideration any labor. A friend and I had a difference of opinion on this and I would like your opinion. THANKS

So what would you guys recomend for a nice sq system that puts out a clean 600 watts mono @ 2 ohms.  Price is limited (no more than like $450 or maybe $500).  Bout to hook them up to two 10" kappa perfect in a sealed box.  And should I get a battery for that?

The SPL vehicle is more money, at least as far as I know because I know that, for example, at retail pricing, Alma Gates Bronco somewhere between 100 000 to 120 000 dollars in gear in it, and thats no typo. That vehicle used to be the loudest vehicle in the world but I dont know what is now but its damn near impossible to answer that question as their are a millon friggin classes and organizations and what not. For the other question, are you looking for a system or just an amp or what. And if its system, specify exactly what you need for gear.

If you are gonna do ebay, look at either a mtx8001d or a mtx 1501d. The 8001d goes for like 250 and the 1501 goes for about 325.00. They are 800 and 1500 watts rms respectivly and thats totally legit, and most times underrated.
