I have a 00 vette that did not come with the optional underhood light but has the connector for it so I ordered the stock harness and light that connects to the 2 pin connector mounted on the radiator shroud.I tested the voltage at the plug and it was 12v.so I plugged the new harness into the lower one and retested before plugging into the light and still get 12v.So then I plug in the light and get no light.I tested the bulb ,its good. The harness gets 12v at either pin. Is that right? The light assembly has a mercury switch that falls when the hood is opened to turn on the light.I don't know if both wires should be + or one should be -.the light itself looks like it gets contact to complete the loop when the merc falls and touches the other terminal. This shouldnt be an issue.Any suggestions????
