Im going to be redoing the entire rear wiring of a 1959 beetle and just thought you guys at this site may be able to help me.  I dont know what gauge of wire i should use and what colors.  I have the wiring diagram for the complete car but doesnt give any info on the gauge or color  Heres the wiring diagram:  http://vintagebus.com/  then go to wiring diagrams scroll down to 1956-1961 USA and click on the diagram button.  If someone could help me on this it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Note that the chart that refers to 1956-1961 is for a Bus, not a Beetle. Beetle is further down the page.

Also, note that there are numbers associated with the wires.. numbers like 0.5, 1.0, 6.0, and such.. all the way up to 25 for the wire coming off the battery.

These are wire sizes.. in mm.

 Convert to AWG here..

As for color?.. what they are showing might be correct, I'd have to look to see what they say for my 67, and what's actually there. You could do the same for any wiring under the hood, dash etc. See if the colors agree with what the chart says.

 Hope this helps,

 Jim
